    Default WHAT HOLIDAYS DO YOU CARE ABOUT....

    Ok - I've been told that I'm a Scrooge just b/c I can give 2 shits about xmas, bdays, v-day etc.

    Today - I was told I suck b/c I am "not doing anything" for Halloween. I mean really? Is it that serious?? Who REALLY celebrates Halloween after their 13? LOL. To date...

    --> X-mas / if you're a kid I'll play the game w/ you --- but adults? SWING AND A MISS! Save it. NO you aren't getting shit.

    --> Thanxgiving / This is prob the most important to me b/c the family gets together. Mind you I am not "Family Guy" but I still enjoy seeing every1 all at once. This is prob THE holiday that I put effort into when I can.

    --> Valentine's Day / Really? When I DO have a gf (rare - lol) I show them how much I care on a regular basis. I don't need to be "prompted" to show that I care on this day. No thanx - not interested.

    --> BDAY / Again, if you're a kid yes. Then 16th, 21st, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th, 70/75 and after 80 take me out b/c I've seen enough. I get nasty-grams b/c I "forgot" some1s 23rd - really? Get over it. LOL.

    Which holidays do you care about, which ones do you not, and why.

    I'm a Vet as well (you already know that). I thank God for them everyday though. I really don't do anything special on V-day except get tons of "thank you" texts from people. LOL

    I have respect for Veteran's Day from growing up with a dad who was a Marine, but I don't ''celebrate'' it. I just make sure to say something to any Vet's I see. lol

    I care most about Christmas and Thanksgiving. I don't even care that much about my birthday (although I used to) because my birthday is 5 days before Christmas so I don't normally have anyone to share my birthday with. My birthdays have (if not all) been bad. I've decided there is no need to make a big deal about it anymore

    This summer was so busy..     I like holidays because they break up the routine that we all find ourselves getting into.

    Christmas is nice because you get to decorate and your home has a different "vibe" to it for a little while.

    Thanksgiving is nice. I don't get to see my entire family because only my immediate family lives in the states. But i like to cook and go out out so that plus family and whoever I find that doesn't have anyone to spend it with usually end up at the table.

    Halloween. Dressed up for the first time since I was four last year. I had a great time so I can't dis it.

    New Years- It one of the FEW times in a year where you can actually get more the 3 friends to get together in one place.

    Valentines Day- I don't believe in required gifts. The company of my sig other is enough for me.

    Birthday- I try to make sure I wish ppl a happy birthday. You never know how much it means to some ppl that you remembered them. Ex- one kid here at work birthday was coming up. Shy kid. I bought an itty bitty cake and we all "celebrated" (if you can even call it that) during our 10 min afternoon break. He cried. He had never had a birthday cake before. He was 21.
    My birthday is Cinco de Mayo. So there is always a party going on

    Distance relationships suck. I can't say that I would ever engage in another one of those unless she was filthy rich - LOL. It just gets too complicated - expensive - etc. Then the thought that "is there REALLY no1 I can see eye-to-eye with between my house and the 9 hours it takes me to get to your house?" - LOL.

    The only holiday I hate is Halloween. I hate little bastards coming up to my door and effectively saying "gimme shit or else"... It's a holiday designed to make them Democrats. Lulz.

    But the rest of the Holidays I don't have a problem with.
