they would take someone that has been painting for 6 years with no schooling over someone who has been working for 4 years with schooling.
I have been experimenting with paint for about 3 years now.

I have been doing body work for the past 6 years.

I have been detailing cars for the last 9 years.

I do not know everything about painting or paint itself, but I do enjoy the work and think I'd do pretty well at it.
