I have a theory on this. When you are young, say 10 years old. A year represents 1/10th of your life. That's a long time. As you age a year to you is (for example) 1/39th of your life, smaller percentage you see. It seems to go by quicker.

Once you reach my age, time truly is like sand through the hourglass, these are the Days of our Lives.
