FYI, there's an asian television channel so asians have something to watch in the states in THEIR language. If the point of BET was so they could talk in all clicks and have african's understand it wouldn't be so racist. But that's not the case.

That being said, if BET should not exist because of the implication that it only caters to Black people, Asian networks should not exist based on the fact that they only cater to a segment that speaks and understands the language in which their programming is broadcasted. Additionally, I could sit here all day and explain that BET spawned as a result of what someone ( the person who initially started BET) felt was needed to fill a void in what was considered to be programming that Black Americans could identify with, but you would not understand because the name will always be the underlying issue.

Currently, BET is owned by Viacom...the same company that owns many tv networks, including MTV. Owned by a White man. Perhaps all those bothered by the name of the network should write him a letter of protest...
