The word "and" in my statement is perfectly fine. Conjunctions join two sentence elements -- In this case, spelling and grammar.
That was a pretty weak and desperate attempt at "correcting" me. You're really reaching out into left field here...
I (and other members who may be sticklers for grammar/spelling at times) only correct things that are blatantly obvious. They don't typically go around looking to nitpick for the hell of things like you just did.
