    Default So I am getting my license suspended

    Get this.

    its 09/05/2009

    I get a letter from Driver Services informing me that my drivers license is getting suspended on the 29th.

    For a failure to appear for a citation issued to me on

    05/18/2006 My birthday of all days ( I got a speeding ticket on my 21st birthday)

    anyways I showed up to court for that ticket 3 times, 3 consecutive weeks. Once on the arraignment (the court date on the ticket) oh which the clerk said they could not find my citation and that I should come back in a week to see if they found it. So two more times I return there and no cigar, ticket no where to be found. I thought the cop grew a conscience and some how managed to make the citation disappear.

    So now, 3 FUCKING YEARS LATER my ass is getting this bullshit ass legal drama.

    Actually I can help you in this situation, EXACT same thing happened to me around this time of the year when I was 18. Got a letter in the mail from the DMV saying my license was to be suspended as of this date for a past event. All I did was write a letter to the DMV commissioner, or person in charge of the license suspensions for the DMV about what happened. My license was gone for all of 3 weeks, when I got a letter back saying, such and such, no reason for suspension take this to the DMV to get a new license!

    but that was also 5 years ago so no idea if that can still work for ya!

    Once a cop writes a citation... It doesn't disappear.

    But yes bureaucracy is fail. The good news is after they take over health-care, everything else they have failed at... Like the DMV, Court system, SS, Medicare, Medicaid, VA hospitals, and public education, will all get better.

    I was arrested for failure to appear in court AFTER I paid my ticket.

    Sucks, man.. Hope it works out for you. just pay the 50 dollar failure to appear ticket and you could have a chance at getting the case dismissed.
