I can tell you, in a respectful way (lolol), how I feel this way wholeheartedly. This event, in particular, is a good example. He touted this event as an event almighty. Creating thread after thread after thread about every aspect of it. Turning folks away telling them it was a "high end" car ordeal only. And then the pics came out and it impressed no one except the people that went. I've never considered an Evo or a Subaru and several other cars as "high end." He made this an invite only event. When it he didn't get all praised for it, he exclaimed his wonderment in what anyone else has done for the scene. As if he is doing something. Now he is saying that all his events are going to be mostly invite only, members only events. You can't view anything on his site without registering. If you're doing something for the scene, you do it for the entire scene. If you're doing it for a select group, then make it clear that you're doing it for a select group.

You see where I'm at, dude? It's just a huge misrepresentation. And it reflects that he's just really trying to make himself look like some big time car event promoter.

I said before, I have no problems with the dude as a person (I think I bought something from him a while back and he was cool as hail). It's just how he's handling all this that seems to be worthy of mentioning.

As a PS to this response, I'll entertain educated and well-formulated responses and carry a tune with you.I'll simply ignore all the ignorant comments as my post here was not ignorant or presented in an attacking manner. Later, QD.

QD i have nothing personal against you either, but there are few things that you don't know. Direction of future events, what's going to come out it, and what's in planning? If you know then yea, but if not then doesn't leave much room to diss on something that is unknown.

You are telling me how i am separating the crowd? At TunerFest, main lot is only open to vendors, sponsors, and highly modified/high end cars. That's not separating the crowd? All respect to organizers and what they are doing. They are organizing it, they do as they please to make their event better and keep everyone happy who attends.

On the site, yes you do have to register to view full media. What do non-IA members have to do to view content on Importatlanta.com? Register.

Thank you for a more dignified response. I may not know the direction of future events, BUT, I can read. And I do know how to process what I read. I quoted you elsewhere on your comment of many more "quality people with quality cars" events. The way that reads to me is more events like what you did the other week. If you do something for the scene, you're doing something for everyone. Not just for a select few. There is NOTHING WRONG with your past event. It just can't be used in an argument for the scene. See where I am?

As far as the Tunerfest. There is a slight difference. Where your event was only open to invited, high end cars, Tunerfest is open to anyone and everyone, regardless of where they are to park. They are all welcome.

And lastly, the website. I thought about that aspect and didn't know until this morning that you had to now register to even see IA. This was a recent move as IA has always been a site that you could browse even if you weren't registered. You know IA has been around for a long time. It's got it's membership count up there. It's carved it's niche. It can pretty much afford to be set up this way now because it's so huge. You're site isn't in that realm yet, dude. My thoughts only (of course), but you should at least let prospective members be able to glance through the site and check out some aspects of it. Give them a taste of what's in store should they register. Once it becomes established, then make a move towards blocking out guests and let word of mouth carry it as it does for IA.

And my last comment will be just about how you handled the criticism. You're the vendor in this, in a sense. All of us other folks are basically customers. You're trying to sell this to the people. Quite a few people were upset at being rejected for a reason that didn't seem to pan out. Instead of bashing those folks, you maybe could have apologized to them and explained the situation. Even if you think you're right, sometimes you have to take one for the team if you're to move forward and gain momentum towards success. Just figure out how to make it better. Not necessarily right, but better.

Hope you take all this crap as just constructive criticism and helpful hints and not a bash towards you dude. Look forward to reading your reply. Later, QD.

I am trying to set line of events that are much more laid back, yet more enjoyable at the same time than regular meets. My goal is, as one enters such meet or event, he/she already has the vibe of the event and how to act in it. Example, one comes in knowing to lay back and chill not come in to drift in parking lot or do burn out....mentality > words. Midnight cruise was flawless not one incident. If i would have made it fully public, i think it would have been opposite. Cruise had a cap off, and yes after that cap off only very few people got in since i wanted something i can control, not go for having lots of cars to make it look big then have no control.

The website is viewable to public, it doesn't force anyone to register to glance at the site. It has enough media for a new website (with limited events) for people to get a taste of what lies inside, we have healthy number of members that eagerly signed up and left positive comments all over. IA is IA, it's one of the top websites around, no one needs to tell them what they need to do. Every website has it's strategy, focus, and goals. I rather give them more in future than take away. I don't want anyone saying, "oh when new they did this to get us on, now taking it away once they got it going." Seeing how people pick on little things.

I didn't bash at anyone, i'll stand by it. I started when people started stabbing at the event by relating it personally to me, my car, character, etc. I (and kevin) did apologize and explained if we upset anyone accidentally, but it simply got looked over. It's hard to see someone stone something you have put hard work in.

I am not benefiting from this, no one paid a dime to attend the event, I put money out of my pocket, and team put its own personal time to make these events happen. If there is benefit then it lies in future, now it's just about having fun and letting the events grow.

I completely understand. It's a fine line to walk when you're trying to organize a controlled environment. And the more the merrier does not always stand true to it's original meaning. And this why I don't go to meets. I'm grown with children and all and there is no time for the crap that happens at them. I'm all down for hanging out in a controlled, relaxed atmosphere.

I've been on the site a couple of times and saw nothing to make me register. Like the video that you said was on it. As far as I could tell, I had to register to see it. I didn't. I read lots and lots of posts where people try to link to another site or tell someone to look at something, but they can't because they have to register. Then that object of the OP is passed over because no one wants to register for nothing. I'm just giving my personal opinion in that the site shouldn't be active for prospective members, but more accessible on the inside.

I was never intending to mean beneficiary on a monetary scale. I was speaking in beneficial terms on a "look at me" pedestal.

On the line of: "It's hard to see someone stone something you have put hard work in."

You'll have to learn to get through these things in a more professional matter to grow. You and I both know not everyone is going to like everything everyone else does. But try to passively explain to them your reasoning behind your actions and then move away. Like right now. We're in a reasonable discussion about what you're doing. You may like some of my thoughts/advice you may think I'm an idiot for them. But you're not conveying your negative (if you have any) thoughts to me in order to keep the peace.

Hope I've helped a bit, dude. Later, QD.

Ah ok, I follow you. If the OP had conveyed this point, then I wouldn't have posted, lol. I was not apart of the cruise event, but have attended the other events Sunny has put together. The F&F meet was cool, as well as the Orton Performance/Beyond OEM dyno days and such. To my knowledge, those were open to anyone who wanted to come.

I see your position on the cruise being exclusive and only allowing "certain" cars at the event. I see how it can potentially hurt and segregate the scene.

    Thank you sir!

Sooooo, WTF is the OP upset about exactly?

*edit* I see this truly about Neg reps, not the scene. OP, there are pantie liners at Walmart.
