My dad has to pay $1,600 a month for me and my sister a month. Which my mom will continue to recieve until my little sister gets out of college and she is just now turning 13, and I have lived on my own for 2 years now.

No offense but your dad is stupid. If he is still paying your mom 1600 a month for 2 children and you dont live at home. The 1600 would be for 2 children and since one is an adult now, he is not responsible too pay your mother anymore. If you aare in College the money would be going too you now.Originally Posted by Tech_Queen

Read my post above..... And support stops once the child stops going to school. If they go too college he still gotta pay. So i figure 21 will be the stopping point.Originally Posted by quickdodgeŽ

That's what I meant. I know he is going to college next semester. He wants to live at home and go, but he's not sure yet. But either way, it'll be around 21 or so when I'm done.Originally Posted by B18c1Turboed
And, just so you know, health insurance is not a "drummed up" extra. It's the law that if the Father has a company that provides insurance, he has to get it for the child. Later, QD.

I wasn't implying that health care is a drummed up extra....Originally Posted by quickdodgeŽ

I'm a firm believer that the child support system, if you will, needs to undergo huge changes and should be way more reasonable for the non custodial parent.
Luckily, like I stated in a previous post, when I move back to Ga joint cutody, both legal and physical, will resume so it won't be so much of a hassle then.
