    Default Need some advice

So heres the deal. I bought a car from a coworker. Deal was done, but no money exchanged. Was going to do work on his other car for this one, title in the glove box from where he bought it and had not transferred it yet. Had his name as the buyer on it also. He was going to give me a bill of sale and the needed paperwork to swap the title to me.

Sadly he passed away sunday due to his own actions. Now where does this leave me? I have no paper work showing our deal or anything. Just the title to the car with his name printed on the back as the buyer.

Maybe find out who he left it to in the will? Although, if that person wants to get really bitchy about the situation, they can just pretend they know nothing and that the guy never agreed to give it to you since you have no proof.

This is a shitty situation, both in the loss of a friend and the legal issues that may keep you from getting the car. Good luck, and sorry to hear about your friend/co-worker.

Well he only had the car maybe a month tops... so I honestly don't even know if his parents (or whoever) knew he had it. He was only 22... So much potential and a great guy.

sorry to hear that man, you could go to state farm and let the know the situation about him passing and tell them he lost the title, so you can get the title put in your name. its 50 bucks plus what you pay at the title place.

Best thing to do is complete the title in his name, with your address. Then once it comes back, put yourself down as the buyer, and send it in again so you get it back with your name on it. Or you can do it the hard way. Your choice..

I'm 99% sure it has his address and everything on it already.
