I've sent this thread to a commercial airline pilot on IA for his input! I'm sure I'll ride the bike up the coast some time to visit, as I am planning myself to be about 3 hours south of there soon

Just wear a helmet. It was my first time down here and i've never seen a place where everybody rides without one. I could never do that.
