    Default Is this a craigslist scam?!

    Im selling this laptop for 300$ and this guy msgs me saying:

    Hello,

    I would like to inform you that I will offer you $490 for the item because it is needed urgently and I would have love to come down to your side to pick it up but I'm not available due to the
    nature of my Job....I was just awarded a big project and I won't be able to do the shipment
    on my own.I want to send it to someone Overseas.What is the shipping fee via USPS Priority Mail? Kindly email me so that I can send the money to you asap through PayPal.

    it sounds like a scam, but is it possible to scam somone through paypal?

    If you have to think it might be a scam, it probably is. And from what I've heard you can get scammed through paypal.

    sounds like a scam but since it's through pay pal i don't think you have anything to worry about.

    tell them you will post it on ebay, and they can buy it through there.

    but, yeah, it's a scam.

    Yes people scam you through Paypal.

    It's very old. They send you a fake e-mail that looks 100% legit saying you have a payment, and when you click the link to get into your account, it's setup to their stuff, so they get your info. One way to know is if they do it to the e-mail addy they are e-mailing you too, my Paypal address isn't the e-mail I always use, so when I get a "payment" in my non Paypal address, I know it's BS. You can copy the link in their payment e-mail and see it doesn't go to Paypal.

    1) Why would they offer more than what you are asking?
    2) You do realize other countries don't use the same power supplies as the US right?

    It's clearly a scam. They'll ask for your e-mail to send a Paypal paypment to then exactly what Simon just said will happen.
