The IS was designed and released as the GS's little sibling. It has very similar lines and facade.

The V6 is all new. As someone commented, it was changed from the 2jz platform of previous years. Jury is still out on IF that was a smart move or not, although the 350 version is pretty stout (300+ HP V-6 ).

The cool thing about the IS is that the AWD should be available in the more powerful V6 version, whereas on the GS it won't be (the GS will only be AWD in the 225+Hp and NOT on the 430 V8 version :jerkit: ).

Again, It is said to be aimed right at the top of the food chain in it's class (3 series BMW). Personally, I think it's gonna do it. I love 3 series myself, but they won't be able to hang with 300+HP though.
