Its like Deke mentioned with the Subaru crowd, they do wave whenever they see another subaru. I tried waving at a EVO once and I got a strange look back, and the dude just flew past me. Some subaru guys say the Evo crew are douchebags, but I hear the same thing coming from the EVO people.

I heard jokes about my car whenever I went to meets with Ed, as you all know he drives an EVO. I will give it a wave if i like the car, regardless of make.

This is true with Impreza/WRX/STI/Forrester XT owners. For the first few years I had my car you couldn't pass one without getting a wave from the driver. It's gone down a little bit just by virtue of having more cars out there.

I"ve heard Jeep Wrangler owners have a similar bond as well.

I'd say that 240 owners wave to each other, but most of us never have our cars on the road long enough to see another one being driven. That, and I hate being asked 'do you drift, and is that an SR20?' They may be the oldest 240 jokes around (aside from looking like a Ford Probe) but the shit ain't changing.

I do find myself waving at anyone with a tastefully modified vehicle, whether it's a Mustang or some other car.

If I had an S2k, i'd only wave to modified ones b/c so many people have them my arm would get tired.

I wave at all the motorcycles. Most of the cruiser guys don't wave, but it's all good. Gotta have SOME hate for there to be real love.

Around the mid-state the bike riders actually have time to wave that's probably part of it lol, there is no way I would ride my bike in atlanta, the drivers up there are INSANE!

When I got my first bike I was so overwhelmed with EVERY SINGLE BIKE waving lol, I was kind of embarrassed, then I got use to it. I didn't wave at kids half dressed or riding like an idiot though. I usually turned or banged my hand on my helmet to them lol.

i've not noticed this with vw.. but then again i've never owned one...

with most cars and what not though everyone just wants to be better than everyone one else, so instead of a waive they mean mug each other.

motorcyclists have a good deal of respect for each other in most cases.. you may see someone my age on a "crotch rocket" waive at someone on a gold wing... but later that night they will both talk to their friends about how they saw the other and how stupid they are for having that particular bike... my dad owns a harley ultra classic.. makes fun of anyone on a crotch rocket calling them "power rangers" cause of the suits.. and even though harley owns buell he made fun of me for getting one..
