Just bought my wife a T-Mobile G1 v. T-Mobile rate plan > *

So, my wife has never had a really nice internet touch phone like this, so she's excited.

What makes me excited is that deal that I got on with T-Mobile being that I am preferred customer (been with them for 7 years or so).

The plans (NO contract change/extension, either )

Me - $49 unlimited voice (anytime, anywhere) and $25 unlimited internet

Now here is the cool part:

I can add extra lines (up to 4 more) for $39/month unlimited voice. Then, I can pay (on a per phone basis whether they want internet or not) $25/month for unlimited, 3G internet.

Also add in the $20/month (covers all phones in the plan) for the family unlimited text messaging and you get one hell of a deal (divided by 4 or 5 phones and it is only $4 or $5 extra a month per phone).

My wife and I will pay ~$145/month for two phones with unlimited voice, data, and text messaging. Anyone else that wants in on the package only has to pay about $70/month for unlimited everything as well.

Also, for every line that I bring into my plan, I get a $135 credit on my bill.

As for me, I am waiting for July 22nd for the HTC Touch Pro2. If I don't like it enough, I'll just pick up a Gphone.

I like my G1, can't wait till the OTA Cupcake update, hopefully sometime this week. I like the touch pro 2, but its supposed to be a WinMo device right? I like Android, and I'm sticking with that.

Yes, it is WinMo. I'm up in the air on it, honestly, but we'll see. We have Exchange servers at work, so Win Mo makes it a lot easier to sync with them (although I hear that TouchDown for Android does a damn good job as well).

If I don't think that the Touch Pro2 is *that* far above the G1, I'll just pick up the G1.

Yea I've been debating getting a G2 when it comes out. But having a physical keyboard is very handy. Onscreen keyboard is really only useful when you can type 1 handed such as when driving. We don't use exchange at work, so I have no need for a WinMo device. Me <3 Android. I'm excited to see what HTC will bring out with besides the G2. I want one of those new 1ghz cpus in my phone!

It is called the "HTC Magic," but might show up at T-Mobile as the "MyTouch" or something along those lines.

Honestly, it won't be any different than the G1 aside from the physical keyboard.

at the moment, we have a camera, but we will be able to use it as a video camera

the battery life is supposed to be improved.

new widgets for the front screen, like the clocks, searching and what not.

a keyboard on the screen.

predictive texting.

etc. there's a lot more, but i forgot. those are the main things. it's called the "cupcake update" because the designer loves cupcakes. LOL. the technical name is Android OS 1.5, where as we are using 1.1

I think the G1 looks cheap and ugly. Never used it though. Looks like Fisher Price my first cell phone.

Now the HTC PRO2 or whatever you posted looks very nice.

Still havent found anything to rival my Iphone though. My buddy had the Blackberry Storm when it came out, and IMO it sucks. Interface is horrible, its slow and the phone itself is clunky and bulky.

i really like it. the video camera is a little laggy. but it seems like the phone is faster and it's supposed to keep a better charge now.

but the texting is sweet for short messages, but one you need to type something long you definitely want to use the actual keyboard.

Yesss, gotta love the unlimited loyalty plan. Sadly, i share my contract with my mom and she doesn't talk enough for it to be worth the extra money per month I think were paying 120 now for 800 anytime + myfaves + my sidekick plan.

So if I did the u/l plan its 90 a month for two lines plus my 35 sk plan so .... not totally worth it :/ meh!

Its a $5 difference between the two, and you have unlimited for $5 more. I'd say thats worth it.

Ya I know but I'm not eligible for a new phone until November and I don't want to spend over 500 for a phone. I got the palm i have now off cragislist brand new still in the box for $150.
