I agree with you there. They change artist a lot, so it is hard to keep up. A few years back they were stacked with huge talent, and now they have a few good ones. Obviously Brandon Bond is the shit, Dave Tedder has been there sense the beginning and his work is outstanding(the artist I use),Tim orth is very talented, and vennekamp(sp) is a badass too. Not too familiar with the other newer artists. I am happy with Tedder, his prices are fair and all the work he has done for me was freehand.

Honestly tats are getting played out way too much. If you are going to get one, make sure it's meanful... not like some stars or random shit. Then again it's your body whatever suits you.

I know tattoos are body art, but I wouldn't put nothing on my skin unless it meant something important. Just my two cents.

As for tattoos being over-done... I think it's stupid how a girl would get like a butterfly and a guy would get some stupid shit written on his arm like "DirtySouth ATL." I mean think about when you get older and your skin starts to wrinkle, that shit is going to be gross. Just like people with the gauged ears and all the piercings. Think about when you get older and you can put a horse's cock through your ear hole.

My view is this...

People shouldn't get a tattoo to get a tattoo or because they're bored. They should have some artwork they like...that they would like to have as a tattoo... or get something "meaningful".

The art should be the first part of the process. It shouldn't go like this "I want a tattoo, I need to figure out something to get."

As for tattoos looking retarded when you're in your sixties, etc. Honestly, when I'm in my sixties I won't care if my tattoos look like wrinkly blobs of ink. I got past giving a shit about what other people think a long time ago and that won't change when I'm a senior.

I see your point, but disagree slightly. I have 3 tattoos that have some sort of meaning. The others are simply artwork that I like and decided to have turned into body art.

I plan to get my entire upper body done, and they wont have much meaning for the most part. My right arm sleeve will have some meaning though. When you start to get entire chest pieces and sleeves and the like, you stop caring about the "meaning" thing.

im down to just getting tattoos for the artwork now. IE: my left calf has a koi. It will also have a pin up style geisha on the otehr side and a japanese mask on the back. to tie it all together a funky colored windbar in the background somewhat faint in appearance but very noticable and a lotus on the top of my left foot.

my right foot i am getting a red eyes tree frog just because it looks awesome with its bright ass green body with blue sides, orange feet, and bright red eyes. i think it will be the attention piece for the ladies.

now my right thigh has a lot of meaning. Its a little mural of things my daughter likes with her name and bday in it. 2 teddy bears, stars, sparrow(she loves birds), etc. it will have candy in it as well lol. I am just continually adding to this piece.

my right underarm is a superman symbol (yea yea yea i know) but it is for a friend that was really close that passed away. Jed you know who im talkin about.

my left arm I got an ohm as my first tattoo and the guy butchered my arm. I to this day have scars that itch so bad sometimes i want to rip the shit out of my skin digging underneath it. I got stars and flames put around it. still not done

my left forearm is music notes and stars in a cool display.

in short NONE of my tattoos are finished and it seems they wont be for a long time because I keep adding stuff to them.

tattoos are wonderful and they calm me down.
