    Default Autmobile tax rate?

    Here in Texas Houston tax rate is 6.25% for brand new vehicle. how much is it in Atlanta? is it different by county? if so gwinnett?

    Sales tax rate is determined by county. I dont know how it works for out of state, but in GA you are charged the tax rate for the county the vehicle is registered in, not where you buy it.

    Yup. 6% in Gwinnett.

    Get someone u know around the original "tri-state" area. U can have them purchase it in DE for nothing, or nearly nothing as far as sales tax

    The reason why I ask is because you don't pay sales tax (in GA) when you purchase a vehicle from a private individual, but you will from a business.
