    Default What happened to the "IA box car derby"?

    What ever happen to running a "IA box car derby"? There was so much hype about that and everyone was interested in doing it. What does everyone think about organizing one again and actually do it this time?

    From what I remember last time, our biggest problem last time was a location. Anyone know of a good location?

    Atlanta Soap Box does theirs at the Starlight Drive-in during the day. Im sure if we could get a big enough interest they would let us do it there.

    OMFG IF OURS TOOK PLACE LIKE THAT IT WOULD BE SOOOO AWESOME

    we have to make sure we do it right, with real videographers like that.... ppl who are good with editting with nice ass cameras on bikes... lol

    maybe not so much on the nice ass cameras... some pretty basic cameras will due... but just good editting

    yeah, id like to see us run on a road like this.

    I know a few people with camera's that would be able to get some footage.

    What I would like to see is this become something everyone on IA gets together and does once or twice a year.

    I will be making some phone calls starting monday to see what we can do for a spot.

    I wont post a thread up until we have a spot, but for those who have built your soap box car already, start dusting it off because this is going to happen this time.

    I was thinking sometime mid summer? ideas...

    If we can for real get this confirmed I will start on the TopSpeed soap box car.

    Atlanta Downhill Challenge has a decent rule book that would be a good start. Its just down the page some on the right.
