^^ I second that. The Prius isn't that good - and its a noisy car for being 25k+! Toyota is definitely making good $$ on those while earning an image for themselves.
There is no contest, the TDI OWNS the prius in this department. I think the TDI can hold its own in situations where you'll get laughed at in the Prius.

As for making money the Prius was a giant investment and risk. Toyota decided to do it back in the early 1990s, when gas here was under $1. Pretty risky to invest in a "hybrid" when gas was cheap. They forecasted gas would NOT be cheap for much longer.
THe Prius lost them billions until about 2006/2007. They finally broke even and became profitable then.
There is a market for both diesels and hybrids.

Audi's are far from gay and if i was going to buy and suv i would still rather have v10 TDI power over any hybrid VW can produce.Audis and Infinitis?
You can't even compare Audi to Priuis or Insight; sorry but those cars are fucking horrible looking and not worth the investment when you can get nicer rides for cheaper w/ more options including MPG.

I didn't say they were ghey. I am saying ghey people love their Audis/VWs and Infinitis. Nothing wrong with that, just an observation.
