    Default Virus maybe??? and an FB question...

    ok so i have avg/spybot/ZA/adaware all installed running on my comp here at work...

    i've ran scans with all of them.. some times come up empty handed some times they catch some files and i get rid of them...

    BUT i still get some mother efing internet explorer window popping up... i don't know shit about this kinda stuff... so HOW do i get my comp completely virus free???

    secondly whenever i log into face book.. it absolutely takes FOREVER doing anything on that site chat never loads trying to go to a profile/a pic/a comment ANYTHING takes absolutely forever.... i figure maybe this also has something to do with a virus..

    any help guys???

    Sounds more like a malware issue maybe.

    Search online, there are a bunch of free malware scanners that usually take care of this kinda thing.

    The TrendMicro online virus/spyware scanner is also an excellent one. I used to use it alot, always caught what others didn't. But I haven't had it able to work lately on my computer, not sure why, but that is another idea.

    Keep us updated.

    Microsoft has an online scan as well that can be good, and if any of the names coming up in other scans are vundo or anything like that, you need a special removal tool.

    go to start > run > msconfig

    Start-up Tab

    Disable all, restart, and run all your scans again from boot-up.

    if this is on a work computer i'm guessing its on a work-network

    if thats the case, a lot of companies have QoS prioritization enabled on their routers where they can cut bandwidth on certain sites like facebook, myspace, non work related shit... etc

    it's a work computer... BUT it's just me, my boss, and a co-worker... no need for cutting bandwidth...

    go to www.filehippo.com and download under Anti spyware 2 programs

    Malware Bytes and Super Anti-spyware. Both are free and work great for removing malware/spyware.

    i'm running superantispyware now.. seems to have detected some of these vundo variants... so i googled vundo.. and wiki says to use SaS to clean these up... so i think i'm doing the right thing!
