[Mr. Clean]

Does anyone like it or enjoy it?


That's what were doing right now in my creative writing class, and I have always vehemently hated it. I don't get it. I don't understand it's hidden themes and meanings. Everything is a metaphor for something greater, and it all just seems like such a hack. Like we are forced to pull something out of a pile of nonsensical bullshit.

This is an example of a PUBLISHED poem in my textbook by Chora:

After spring sunset
Mist rises from the river
Spreading like a flood

Are you fucking kidding me? This constitutes good writing? This is what people call genius?

Poetry is the one section of Fine Arts that I think is ridiculous. 12 words written on a piece of paper is 12 words on a piece of paper... nothing more. Why do we have to make something out of nothing to get a degree?

Poetry is pretty boring imo. I'm not usually the sentimental type but I wrote a pretty deep poem a while back.

I wanted to taste you,
But I had to wait.
You just got out of the microwave,
And onto my plate.

I tried my best to let you cool off,
As your smell filled the air.
Why are my friends staring at me?
Do they really think I'm going to share?

You promised Id be satisfied.
It was written on your box.
A minute went by,
Then i attacked you like a fox.

So I took a bite,
And fuckin burnt my tongue.
Oh but it was worth it,
Down to the last crumb.

How can I already be done?
I ate you faster than a rocket.
I just want you to know,
I'll always love you, BBQ hotpocket.

I like poetry and took classes in college on interpretation, but some of them are just pointless. The one you posted falls in that category, lol.
