[Mr. Clean]

Does anyone like it or enjoy it?


That's what were doing right now in my creative writing class, and I have always vehemently hated it. I don't get it. I don't understand it's hidden themes and meanings. Everything is a metaphor for something greater, and it all just seems like such a hack. Like we are forced to pull something out of a pile of nonsensical bullshit.

This is an example of a PUBLISHED poem in my textbook by Chora:

After spring sunset
Mist rises from the river
Spreading like a flood

Are you fucking kidding me? This constitutes good writing? This is what people call genius?

Poetry is the one section of Fine Arts that I think is ridiculous. 12 words written on a piece of paper is 12 words on a piece of paper... nothing more. Why do we have to make something out of nothing to get a degree?
