Softtop. The power hardtop, while convenient, is hideous with the top up. I'm looking at a black/black sport model since they're the cheapest after rebates. It's all about saving money right now.
The MPG difference is minimal at best. Also, the MX-5 requires premium fuel while the Mustang can run on swamp-water. It pretty much balances out in the end.
Hyundai isn't dealing with the new Genesis coupes or I'd consider it. lol

Hey, it's a Miata (which I love), has 160HP, is RWD, 5-speed, and will lower my overall monthly costs by roughly $200. Just gotta see if my mid-600 credit score will carry me or not. They still don't have the info back from their banks so I'm waiting for a call now.

yea...my credit is mediocre as well and i had no problem getting financed...definitely not the best rate, but better than regular banks
Basically because I'm flipping a bit over on the Stang. They said that my score isn't bad, but it's not good either. It's just kinda...there. Anyway, I'm still running numbers through various places and double checking things to make sure that I'm going to end up where I want to be. If I can feasibly get into a new MX-5 with lower payments and roughly half the insurance costs, then I'm going to go for it.

It's an 08 that's being clearanced out to make way for the 09's. The sport model I'm looking at comes with a 5-speed. The other (more expensive) models come with the 6-speed.
