    Default Need Prayers/Thoughts Please

    So - I'm going to jump into a little bit of my personal bidness and share it with everyone... (Please do not post stupid, kiddy remarks about my bitties, kthx)

    I went to the Dr. last Friday for a few issues I've been having including some pain in my left breast. The Dr. did an exam only to discover a pretty large lump. I had done some self exams, but didn't know what a lump felt like. (It's not like a bulge, you can't see it, and to the untrained eye, you never know what a lump actually feels like.)

    So, yesterday I was scheduled for a mammogram. (The average woman shouldn't really start getting mammograms until their 40s: I'm only 24.) When I arrived, the Dr. treated it casually and said sometimes women my age just "have lumpy breasts." So he ordered for me to do an ultrasound first and then if necessary he wanted me to do a mammogram. No biggie. I did the ultrasound and the Dr. said he didn't like what he was seeing, so I had a mammogram right after. (Which by the way, women that say they are painful are FULL OF SHIT! It didn't hurt AT ALL!)

    I won't get my results back until Friday, but it is very possible that I have some form of Breast Cancer.

    Breast cancer is not common in my family; however, other forms of cancer are.

    Please just keep me and my "bitty" in your prayers/thoughts (not your dreams/nightmares).

    wow, sorry to hear that. Hopefully its nothing and you do just have lumpy breasts and if it is something hopefully you are catching it early on. GL.

    You'll be in my prayers, hun. My mother had a lump on her left breast also and went to the doctor about it before. They found out it was a sistist(Sp?). Well, it came back and she has to go to the doctor about it again sometime soon. Maybe it will be that rather than breast cancer.

    I get scared a lot because I don't know what a lump feels like either. The doctors always say you will know if you feel one, but I feel lumpy things in my breast all of the time, only to hear the doctor say everything is fine.

    I hope everything is ok. Don't stress until you have to. No need to waste the time either way. I know it's hard.

    It is a big deal, but you are very young and have found the lump at a very early time, there is a great amount of success in treating these types of cancer as long as they are treated in time. Just follow advice given to you, and always get a 2nd doctor's opinion and you will be fine!

    Well can't say its not a big deal cause it is(my mom just had to go in for something on her thyroid and still awaiting the results) but hopefully its nothing. At least your willing to go to the Dr when you feel something isn't right with ya vs some that don't because they don't wanna know or what ever they are thinking, but I'll have ya in my thoughts(I don't pray). Hopefully everything goes well.

    No cancer - the Dr. called it "lumpy tissue" - said it sometimes happens to women after breastfeeding... (even though it's been like a year and a half)

    Just saw this thread. Yea it can happen, my wife had the same scare not too long ago. Caused by plugged ducts if I'm not mistaken.

    However if you want a seciond opinion I can tell by taste alone.

    So, what about tiff-o-lumpies? LOL

    My sister had the same issue. First doctor told her it was likely breast cancer, so she went and got 2nd and 3rd opinions and found out that it was just tissue as well. Cancer free.

    CONGRATS though. Im sure that is a HUGE relief!
