For the record, a gutted cat/test pipe on a D15 and LT1 are two entirely different animals. Truth be told (not that i condone gutting cats) but i did have a cobalt ss supercharged like a year ago, BPU , and we gutted the cat and picked up about 5-7 peak hp.

Is your T/A a 98-02 or a 93-97? If it is a LTurd get rid of it, and put a LS1 in it. That there will get you a few seconds quicker down the 1/4.
