    Default 5th grade math problem

    This is not a trick question. This is a real math problem so don't say that a bus has no legs. There is no bus driver either so don't worry about counting those legs! That's all the help you get.

    There are 7 girls in a bus.

    Each girl has 7 backpacks.

    In each backpack, there are 7 big cats.

    For every big cat there are 7 little cats.

    Question: How many legs are there in the bus?

    for the record, i know it doesn't explicitly say that the backpacks are on the bus with the girls so i'm telling you that now

    10,990 legs


    break down:

    1 girls - 2 legs (per girl) x 7 girls = 14 legs
    7 big cats - 28 big legs (per bag) x 7 bags = 196
    7 little cats - 196 little legs (per bag) x 7 bags = 1372

    1372 little legs + 196 big legs = 1568 x 7 bags per girl +14 girl legs = 10990

    343 big cats (49 backpacks x 7 big cats).
    2401 little cats (343 big cats x 7 little cats).
    2401 + 343 = 3744 cats x 4 legs each =10,976
    14 girl legs (7 girls *2 legs)
    10,976+14=

    I counted my maths wrong. I thought legs meant wheel chairs so i was adding wheels on the bus.
