I've been ever since i was 4 yrs. old., So i'm quite used to it by now. 4 shots a day does get quite old. I'm sitting in the hospital right now. Originally came here because i was having some really bad asthma, which i've had since i was 2 yrs. old., and could barely breath. So my pulse-ox was at about 88-89 when i first came in. It's not at 97-98, but i'm still here because the steroids and meds they've been giving has made my blood sugar go crazy. This morning i woke up and it was 557! And for you that don't know, the range to shoot for is around 100. I've got an app. with my doctor in March because they kept re-scheduling my appt. I've been trying to get the insulin pump for about 4 years now but they keep telling me they have to stabilize my bllod sugar more, and quite frankly I'm tired of hearing that. With the pump it would be just so much more convenient and I'm sure it would help stabilize my blood sugar better than the regular injections. I was looking at the One touch Omni pump. It can be controlled by a PDA or through some cell phones. Pretty cool if you ask me. Diabetes just seems to be so inconvenient. I always have to worry about having all my shots and supplies. It's holding me back from joining the armed forces. It just seems to hold me back alot of the time, and there's really nothing i can do about it, and that really sucks..![]()
