And it was not to save the French, it was for self interest.. The U.S. was not going to help the French out during WWII until they were forced to because it became a direct threat.. Just like the French didn't help the U.S. against GB w/o self interest.. Every war the U.S.(or any other country) has ever gotten into, is for SELF INTEREST!
