    Default Anyone up for a group trip to Oktoberfest in Helen?

    I was thinking we could do an IA trip to Helen the weekend of September 30 - October 2nd for Oktoberfest.. Basically, if you've never been, it's just a big drinking fest with parades, parties and the chicken dance!!!

    I was thinking a lot or maybe even all of the hotels and cabins are going to be booked, so we can go camping. (Ladies, don't worry, the campgrounds always have showers and bathrooms with mirrors) I just think that would be sooo much fun to get all you party people together and go drink!!

    Anyone game?

    Oh yea, the mountain roads are a lot of fun in jeeps and lowered cars!! (Just thought I'd throw in some more incentive, besides the fact that there will be A TON OF BEER!!!)

    that's awesome! Cliff, hell no!!! there is no way i'm driving all the way down there and then all the way back to helen! LOL.. it's a 30-45 minute drive for me!! that would make it like 1.5-2 hours for me.. eeek!!

    Hell we can go 2 times.. it's like $13 per night for a camp site.. I think a ton of people cramped together could afford like $1 per person to stay...

    bring lots of friends that wanna party.. they'll buy you drinks... this one guy that bought me and my boyfriend (at the time, now ex) drinks had like a $170 tab after 30 minutes.. he was trashed!

    i went up there this past weekend with the twin and my mom - it had just begun. kinda sucked tho. helen ain't what it used to be. but it is kinda weird/cool to see all the damage from that tornado - if you drive through helen - yuo can see exactly where the path was- it is pretty neat.
    Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it!
