eh don't want to start a PC/Mac fight, but i've been using mac for about 4 years now and from what i've seen there is not a single PC out there that has been running as long as my ibook G4 and still be as fast as it was the day it came out of the box. I've never had to do ANYTHING to it. no virus scans, no cleaning off the hard-drive... nothing... it just fucking runs. that's not really my main reason for going mac though. i really like the music/photo programs they have to offer vs. most of the pc equivalents.Originally Posted by d-ninja
but to get back on the point... you'll never find any new mac for $400 so windows based companies doing something right... there's going to be a lot of new college students that will choose a $400 computer over something far more expensive anyday. and the OP's computer seems to be a really good deal. it has most of the necessary tech specs for everyday use and if he takes care of it as you've stated, it should be a winner.
