wtf do you think the BIBLE BELT is???
why are certain countries made up of primarily one religion??? because that's how they were raised and that's how their parents were raised, and that's how their parents were raised.... etc etc etc...
sorry kyle, i disagree 100%. the factors you mention are DEFINITELY a huge influence on people's chosen religion, but at the end of the day, its still a choice, and you're not obligated to believe anything.Originally Posted by Killer

there are countries still out there where you can be killed for being a diff religion... some people don't have a choice... tell me random tribes out there have been exposed to diff religions..... and they can freely choose what they want to believe in....
this goes much deeper than me being a "christian" (if you will)... i'm not talking about me personally..
and you're an ass clown regardless of anything in this thread...
I'm not referring solely to christianity at all; I think much more hollistically than that regarding religion. Raised to be open minded? No - I grew up in a family that has been based in the methodist church for several generations, and as a child I never knew anything else, but I've since come to form my own opinions and shape my own beliefs. I won't delve into what those are exactly, but needless to say, I buck the trend established by the generations before me.Originally Posted by Killer
Regarding the choice argument... even though they could be killed... its STILL a choice. As for people in random tribes, they obviously don't have many beliefs to choose from, but its still their choice whether or not they want to embrace and believe what they've been taught. nobody can MAKE you believe anything.
