My mom was the first "black" to work in a bank in Gainesville, Ga. She still has the newspaper with her face in it. The only 2 other blacks that were allowed to work there was the owners driver and the cook. Ever since that day, she was always the token black lady in the workplace. She was Personel Manager at Mead Corp until she retired a few years back. She always told me to never accept defeat and blame no one for a short coming.
Kids (teens and adults) today need to understand that the past should be motivation to do better. Racial slurs are used by those that hate themselves. Whether they be rich and successful, or poor and lonely......they still hate themselves. That goes for black and white, brown and yellow, blue and green (just covering all bases).

I think this is a fantastic development, and one that I hope STAYS in place! I have watched a couple of threads recently go WAY off the deep end, and I've expressed how disgusted I was with the crap that was being slung.
