    Default Noises to sleep to?

    Does anyone else have to or like to go to sleep to a certain noise?
    I like hearing a fan...like a box fan when I go to sleep. Dead silence I can't sleep in, but If I wake up to the fan noise I go right back to sleep.
    I also Like the ticking of a clock. Just curious if anyone else has to have a noise to get to sleep. Post em

    For me to fall asleep it must be peace and quiet. The only noise that i can fall asleep to is rain.

    Riding in a car puts me to sleep. Always has, since I was a baby. And the sound of a computer, mine is in my room and it runs all the time. When I turn it off, I usually can't sleep as well.

    I forgot about rain on a tin roof. I would always fall asleep at my grandparents house when it was raining....ahhhh that sound.

    Rain, the TV, riding in the car, etc. Having an infant is a plus in this area too... they have all sorts of sound CD's to help them sleep at night, and they work for adults too.

    I don't really know of any noises that help me sleep. Not to bring up my line of work again, but all the driving I do keeps me plenty tired enough to go on to sleep through anything. Later, QD.

    I bet... I don't know how you guys do it. My dad drove semi's for a little over 10 years, and I was always amazed at his ability to stay awake after working such long hours.

    Ceiling fan and rain are a sure fire way for me to fall asleep. I can also sleep all day if its cloudy and raining.

    I personally love sleeping with a load turbo diesel generator in the background, also raddling my brain through the pillow with F15 fighter jets taking off every hour. and the occasion mortar shells coming in. That always puts me right out.

    Speaking of the DR and getting off-topic. There was and maybe still is hella sales on plane tickets to the DR from Atlanta. $79 each way with no restrictions and the tickets were good for the rest of the year. Heard in on Clark Howard.

    I've mentioned metal/tin roofs here a few times. Normally it's not sleep but more a sexual thing, lol! When I moved away from my parents I got a cabin with a metal roof...seemed like it was always raining and with the new freedom of moving out, well you know. My daily routine was semi-gf when I got home, fun, dinner, more fun, semi-gf went home, I went to sleep, awakened at midnight every night by an unhappily married chick that was 9 years older than me, fun for HOURS, sleep, then was at work right at sun up. The rainy nights were accented by alcohol and random drugs...mushrooms, weed, or maybe a few morphine pills supplied by who I was seeing. Then eventually there was a few nights when both were over...at the same time.

    So yeah, rain on a tin roof brings back some AMAZING times. Regret it? Nope. Go back to that way of life again? Nope.

    i like white noise too.. i either turn on the bathroom fan and leave the dorr open so I can hear it or I plug in this HEPA filter that makes loud white noise. But the best is steady rainfall all night. I love that sound.

    cool thread. i usually have to have a fan running when i fall asleep. i can not sometimes, but its usually a big thing. i like rain too and storms. just really pleasing for some reason.
