I have been avoiding this question for a while. If he really is a bad president, we will hear about our racist society if he is booted out of office? Will we still heard Michelle Obama tell us how she is proud of her country?

My guess is that we will hear about Americans being racist and never really giving him a chance. We will hear how republicans flexed their muscles and sabotaged him because of their racist beliefs.

This is true, but I am not talking about educating the next Bill Gates or Warren Buffett. I am talking about educating that mid-level supervisor at Sony, or that guy that worked on the assembly line that was just promoted to lead.

People that go on to college are 100% responsible for the content and quality of the education they receive. People that goto public schools have little say in the curriculum they are forcd to endure and their only say in the quality is the effort they put into it.

I am really believing that we will rise above it. I hope that black people don't take it for "the man" putting Obama down. I also hope that white people wont go around attempting to take credit for all the good that may be done. Now if there are clear instances where something occured, that can open a new discussion.

    He is a man first......

LOL @ BangingJimmy sniffing out this thread. Seriously, the sour act is not a good look.
    Get over it.

    He won.
The ppl of this country elected him, fair and square. The people of this country, not just Black ppl. Every race, creed, ethnicity and religion.
Today history is being made, whether some of you comprehend and or like it.
No amount of bitching is going to change that and seriously, how has this election impacted you on a day to day, personal basis?

You don't care for the historical significance of today then it's quite simple: Keep it moving and live your life the way you have been for the past 8 years...Not giving a fuck.

Well thats kinda what I was getting at, my word choice could have been a little more direct. Those that don't get it, never will past grade school. I don't think that those subjects are pushed hard enough in school, nor are they taken serious enough in college. If someone leaves with the basic knowledge in grade school, then they SHOULD be able to function in socitey, lol.

Hasn't unregulated capitalism been partly responsible for the financial mess we are in presently?

The mess we are in is partly greed, partly legislation, and partly bad business decisions.

The CFR amendments of 93 pretty much forced banks to lend to under or unqualified people. This created a HUGE shortage in housing. That is where greed stepped in. The huge rises in housing prices, the huge influx of "predatory" loans, and the huge changes in the mortages brokerage markets. Before long we had major lending institutions adding huge amounts of these risky assets to their portfolio which turn out ot be horrible business decisions. When the crash came these lending institutions were stuck with al of these bad assets and have been eating them ever since.

In more simple terms, it is an injustice for some people to have more than others.

I think you missed what I was trying to say. What I meant was that if the public education system was responsible for explaining politics and the inner workings and bullshit of how our government works. You would see the biggest influx of idiots claiming to know what they are taling about because their senior high schoool teacher spit out whatever the teachers union party line is.

I just find it disgusting that the media has turned "black president'' into a fucking commercialized fad. Obama shirts, obama stickers, obama underwear, obama this obama that. It's fucking disgusting. And it's a damn shame that they (the media) has turned something as important and serious as the innaugeration into the fucking MTV music video awards. Also i have a huge problem with the gun legislation obama intends to pass before he does shit about the hurting housing market. Glad to see he's focusing on the REAL issues.

Kids my brother's age through 25 have turned the obama fad into something insane, usually you can depend on college kids to rally for the liberal candidate during election time but not to the extent where you become an outcast of their society if you're not on the boat. My generation has become an army of mindless sheep just following the herd and it pisses me off /rant.

I agree. Public school systems are not the place to teach how politics work. Most high school teachers tend to think they know everything and just shovel shit down their students' throats.

    Haha.

    I blame the lenders' greed.

I blame the govt for making regulations to drop the requirements to get a loan as not to offend those who are members of the "financial risk" group.

I get that completely, trust me. We CANNOT rely soley on our public (or private) education systems as the end all for knowledge. What I am saying though is that the education system is not going anywhere. We need to constantly improve and monitor the curriculum. Everyone, for the most part, goes through it. We need to improve on it and hope that the student can think over and beyond it. Flaws will be found and challenged by the big thinkers and over achievers.

I agree, but look at how many times in the last few years test requirements, and guidelines have been relaxed to apease one demographic or another. This is hurting us as a country and not helping a single person.

I cant remember when politics was NOT a competition between the parties. Both are trying to trick the masses into thinking they are right and the other side is wrong and evil. Havent you turned on a news channel for the last 8 years?
