i know that, but your resume has work experience listed, and OSI is going to look a lot better than b1 armament! what on a resume are you talking about other than experience? just education? i will still have to do college if i plan on getting out. right now im planning on retiring though, but i'm going to start my college soon incase i change my mind on staying in.

I have seen a couple people in this thread complaining about their "boring" deployments. Fuck that. I would love a "boring" deployment after 3 exciting trips which included such lovely spots as Kandahar, Khost, Fallujah, etc. The one upcoming this year should be even more "exciting" considering what is going on in Afghanistan. Sit back, bank your "combat pay" and enjoy your warm showers, fast food, and bases with all the amenities.

well if your were anything like me a boring deployment is not what you want, maybe once uve sat in qatar doing jack shit for 6 months you would know. qatar is nice, but its not worth calling a deployment, if im going to deploy ide like to be doing something. i under stand you being booty hurt over someone calling qatar boring, if the person saying that was one of the many little bitches that go there and cry about how it sucks, and act like it couldn't be any worse, when they were staying in the 4 star hotel dorms. but thats not me, i knew it could be a lot worse, and would much rather be in a worse place. oh, when its 110-140 degrees showers are warm whether you like it or not!

Do you have your CCAF? The Air Force has a program now where all credits from your CCAF will go towards your Bachelors at certain schools, you'd only have 2 years left of College from the start.

I'm currently at Charleston AFB (2T2 Air Transport) and there are a few guys getting "deployed" later this year. I want to deploy but I've been away 5 months already and I am still gone. I'm applying for OTS early next year and if accepted I'll skip deployment but if not I'll go ahead and do one late 2010.

i almost got my ccaf, ive been doing all the clep/dantes that i can pass that will apply to it, then ive done a few classes at AMU online. just a few more and im done. should have done some while i was gone but i didnt. ive thought of doing OTS but i think ide rather stick to enlisted, i made a few officer friends while i was gone and they deal with alot more BS than i thought.

I leave for OCS in November. Depending on which branch I get I'm planning on going to Ranger school. Short, exciting deployments for me. My first deployment was at the beginning of the Iraq war. That was pretty exciting to say the least.

I know none of you want a loose canon like myself as a commander, therefor those of you who do not know my identity already probably will not. I would hate for the stiffs to get a hold of my interwebs secrecy.

I'm a squad leader in 1/503rd. Been here since February. Where are you at now?

I was in Afghanistan from July '02-Feb.03, Fallujah August 03-April04, then back to Afghanistan September-Nov 04. All my deployments were with 82nd ABN. This next one will be a year in Afghanistan. I take it you are trying to get in to Ranger Regiment if you are talking short tours?

Well at least for the time being. I'm hoping to be stationed at Ft Benning for my next duty station. So Ranger will increase my chances of getting there. I will most likely be in training for the next year or so.

To answer your questions, LOL, I am at Ft. Benning now. Went from 173rd to 3/3 ID. The heavy world is kinda lame. Being an 11 series you have a good chance of coming here. But if you're lucky you'll sneak a cadre spot over there in TRADOC like Ranger School or something, then it'd definitely be easier to get in.....

Congrats on the OCS thing, RLO life is not for me though. All branches out of OCS can go and might even be made to go in most cases. I am down here at Benning, but will be wheels up prior to November for Iraq

I was in 63d Engineer down on main post Jan 2000- Nov 2002. Did Airborne and all that shit. I'm just dying to get back in the saddle and do some more training.

How is that Combative Training school down there? Is it a full on school or more like an extra curricular activity?

Here is a list of what I'm going to sign up for as soon as I get the chance.

    Ranger
    Pathfinder
    Air assault
    halo
    sere
    Combative training
    Defense language
    Defense information

Weather I get them is another thing. All I know is I didn't get shit as an enlisted soldier maybe I will have a better chance as an officer.

Warrant is the way to go. If I hadn't gotten out to go to college I probably would have gone that route. My new goal is to make it to O-6.
