Every single person i know that has once had an ipod and has switched to Zune (including myself) cannot express enough their hatred for Itunes. Even if the Zune Hardware itself is inferior to the Ipod, the software is leaps and bounds ahead of anything Apple has to date....not to mention much more user friendly. This happening ONLY to the 30 gig 1st gen versions, is possibly due to the fact today is a leapyear day/366th day of the year....and its possible this was not factored into the programming of the Gen1

I've never had an issue with Itunes either... Actually, that's all I've used (hell, I'm using it to listen to music right now actually). I tried to use the Zune program but didn't like the feel of it.

secretly installing services and startup items ftl

how about Its inability to transcode video when you drag a WMA file into iTunes, it immediately transcodes it into AAC, presumably because Apple would sooner mess with your files than build WMA support into the iPod. When it comes to video, however, iTunes simply skips over any files it doesn’t like. Since iTunes supports approximately none of the major video codecs.

    fuck itunes

If I wanted to watch a movie or a video, I have both a DVD player and my G1. Sorry, I just don't have the need or want to walk around with an mp3 player to watch movies. I can do that at home.

While I traditionally agree on this point, I did enjoy being able to watch my anime during the long trip to Miami a while back.

listening to music, playing games, and watching video all on something that can fit in your front packet and costs under $200 (mine did at the time) > lugging around a laptop on a short road trip......not to mention my zune battery lasts longer than most laptops

That’s beside the point, its shared purpose is as an audio AND Video player.....so it should perform equally as well in both applications......its the software I have a problem with.....if Itunes would adopt more Windows oriented support I would have no issue with it.....yet they insist on striving to keep their non conformist image afloat

I like my Apple products no problems well other than my one stick of RAM in my Laptop going bad, but other than that it does what it needs to w/ CS4 and LR2. . now the DELL I'm on in the gallery craps out all the time. . but to each their own. Other than I wish the iPods had the wireless update feature that the Zunes have

    or get a Sony Mylo

Buy enterprise-class dell products and you'll NEVER have any issues. Any Dell laptop that large businesses use is well-build (or they'd go broke on warranty issues). The Dell 630 is the latest laptop I've used and its pretty good.

I still use a Dell D600 - zero problems for 3 years now.

FUCK iTunes... Fuck iPod too. All apple products are made for people with no balls.

Unfortunately I do have an ipod 160gb - but I use it more as a HD than to listen to music lol. I've been looking for programs to replace iTunes but none of them work Anyone have a working replacement for iTunes?

So ZUNE is having Y2K issues in 2008. They're only 8 years late - not bad for microsoft.

its only on the 1st gen 30 gigs, and not a y2k bug, more like a leap year bug.....but again thats only the best guess at this point.

well out of the Apple Desktops and laptops I've used over the past 8 years I've only had the RAM issue happen once and it was fixed w/ in a day under warranty.

It really doesn't matter to me, it should just be a reasonable drive for anyone who wants to attend.
