Lol I've been to louisville a few times to visit my brother in law. I thought it was a pretty nice place... but then again my brother in law is an Anesthesiologist. I guess his side of town is the nice side.
Seriously though, I would go to the emergency room. Some hospitals are not for profit hospitals. They can't turn anyone away, regardless of whether or not they can pay. My friend did something similar (well, actually in a bar fight lol), and injured his ankle. It was swolen like yours. His turned out to be the lateral malleolus of his fibula (bottom of the smaller leg bone). The first hospital told him it was his ankle and gave him a walking cast. After a week of excrutiating pain, he went to another hospital and they realized it was the fibula, not the ankle, and ended up putting in titanium mesh and screws.

Looks exactly like mine after I sprained it a few months ago. After an MRI I found out I had 3 torn ligaments in my ankle. Its been 4 months and I still walk with a limp.
well i kept in on ice. ended up having to work today. but it was -15 all day and even thru two pair of insulated socks and thick boots my feet were still froze numb. so it was like having ice on it all day. i just wore a ankle brace and limped all day. at least im back home now.
