The problem is not the word "trashy". There are indeed many trashy people who happen to have tattoos. There are also many trashy people with no teeth, live in run down trailer parks, and generally sleep around with everyone. That can be "trashy" too. Just like there are many more people that have those same things that are NOT trashy. The problem is with the word ALL.

I have no problem with anyone's opinion about tattoos themselves. Hell, my mother hates them. My grandmother thinks they are associated with Devil worshipers. But when you take it a step further from "I don't like tattoos and would never get one MYSELF..." to "I don't like tattoos and everyone that has one is trashy...." then it makes a big difference.
