He said directly and clearly that he considers people with tats "trashy". That would include many, many people I love and respect, including myself who damn sure don't fall into that category. Therefore, I said what I said to prove a point.

i suggest you two get with the program!

#3. Some of you obviously don't have good friends nor mirrors. To call someone whom you don't even know "trashy" is incredibly cocky and self-centered. It may not be your taste. She may or may not be butt ugly. But to stand on your self made pedestal like you're some kind of prize to behold and therefore an authority on looks is pretty metrosexual.
Because it's only a fact in your own eyes, which makes it an opinion. Sorry bro, but an opinion does not equal fact. It's all in interpretation.Quote:

There is nothing wrong with that, every person you have ever met, you have judged in some form or another, whether it was consciously or unconsciously
Yes, because an opinion or perspective automatically makes you narrow minded. :rolleyes:Quote:

You and him both go look the definition of "trashy" in any dictionary. I'm willing to bet that nowhere in any definition does it use the words "tattoo". Wanna bet?
That's an ASSumption based solely on a split second's visual perception of someone. "Trashy" is usually reserved for people who ACT "trashy". Therefore, how is it humanly possible to say someone is "trashy" when you've not even met them, heard them speak, saw them act, know where they live....etc. It would be perfectly fine to say that you think someone looks or acts "trashy" and they happen to have tats. One doesn't have to automatically affect the other. But much like calling EVERY black person the N word just because ONE or TWO or TWENTY act like they have no class, it shows that you are narrow minded by forgetting the other 20 Billion that aren't.
I take personal offense to him not knowing my wife, my brothers, my friends, yet calling all of them "trashy" JUST BECAUSE they happen to have tattoos.
I think Anime is the gayest form of cartoon on the planet. Just because he and others enjoy it doesn't make THEM gay. It just happens to be that they like something that I loathe. So, should I just call EVERYBODY that watches Anime "gay" because I think the cartoons themselves are gay???? Guess so in yall's world.
You'd be wrong then. I've never looked at a woman and sized up what I thought she'd be like in bed. Sure, I've admired and fantasized about what they'd be like in bed, but never......and I mean never.....assumed she would or wouldn't be.Quote:

You take offense too easily then. Why does it bother you so much that I find people with tattoos trashy? Your perspectives and opinions are no better than anybody elses.Quote:

The only one that is not getting it is you.
Your opinion may be that all tatted people are "trashy", and I'm telling you that you're incredibly crass and self-centered if you think that. One thing doesn't have to do with the other. I have yet to see any definition of trashy where a tattoo was a given and automatic. I don't think you have either.
Whatever dude. Freedom doesn't give you a license to stereotype. Maybe in your world, but not in everyone elses.Quote:

The problem is not the word "trashy". There are indeed many trashy people who happen to have tattoos. There are also many trashy people with no teeth, live in run down trailer parks, and generally sleep around with everyone. That can be "trashy" too. Just like there are many more people that have those same things that are NOT trashy. The problem is with the word ALL. ;)Quote:

Yes. I find it lowly, ugly, pitiful, and basically retarded. Fair enough for you?Quote:

I have gained a TON of respect for Ran, for what it's worth online, from this thread.
He has stuck to his opinion and not backed down no matter what anyone has said. And although I don't prefer his preferences in porn, or the cartoons he enjoys, those do not define him. His ability to stand his ground makes him who he is.
I don't judge him based on what he likes, but if judges, that is his right. He is a free minded American. Last I checked this wasn't Cuba or North Korea, and having your own judgements and opinions are ok.
AGREED:goodjob:Quote:

Think whatever you want. You want to argue with simple direct facts? Whatever dude, beat your chest and be proud that you're too simple minded to understand how sticking to the belief that "ALL" of anything only makes you stupid. Be proud of that if you want. It's painfully obvious to me why Anime entertains you now.

Really? What is "the meaning of a word is what the individual gives it.."? It's double talk. You said absolutely nothing of substance nor fact, which ironically enough IS the definition of double talk. It's also called baffle them with bullshit.Quote:

I'm neither attempting to change your mind, nor assuming that I'm qualified to do so. You should have no worries there. :goodjob:
Oh, there were plenty of facts like having a tattoo doesn't automatically qualify anyone as "trashy" or how the definition of "trashy" in the dictionary doesn't mention tattoos anywhere......there's a couple to start.Quote:
