    I dont believe you. If you said plain and simple , no, to a search and they still searched, you had a rock solid civil rights violation case.     I have no clue what a "false start" is but if you mean letting the dog sniff the exterior of the car then that is very much legal. If you have something illegal on you and it is found during a search, what the cops do is not called ripping you a new one, it is called giving you what you have earned.
