It's pretty good man. I had so much fun my first year, I came back for more. Been taking the first of my major classes this semester- mechanical engineering- and I really enjoy them. Also dabbling in some programming. It's a ton of work but it's not bad at all when it actually interests you, ya know? I'm also living in my fraternity which is actually IN back bay Boston, so I'm out of the dorms and getting to experience the city life.

All that being said... I can't wait to get the hell out of here, drive my car, and hang out with friends at home. I have to go months at a time up here with no Waffle House, no Chick-fil-a anywhere nearby, no Zaxby's, the closest Sonic is in New Jersey, it's complete nonsense.

Bummer on the lack of southern goodness, but at least you're getting that edumacation. I have a couple of friends that are graduating soon from GT with ME degrees and they are getting some pretty ballin' offers. That hard work will deifnitely pay off in the long run.

Yeah, it's not the most ballin' college experience in terms of Saturday football and a wild social life (though we do have fun, despite common belief), but I'm going with the "bust my ass now and make the rest of my life a little easier" plan.

Yep, I'm getting out with a degree in Industrial Engineering in May. It's been a pain in the ass, but well worth it (and don't get me wrong, I still have a good time). I already have a good job lined up and will probably go for an MBA in a few years. I'm sure having MIT on your resume will put you a little ahead of the game come graduation

A friend of mine at tech is doing Industrial Design as well and I think she's looking to get something going with Ikea when she's out- she's Scandinavian so I think it works out.
