No fanboy here, but the reason why the AE86 is unappreciated in America and especially Atlanta, is because there are no "touge" I mean the nimbleness of Corollas with simple suspension upgrades can out handle a lot of vehicles. And Miata < Corolla simply because the horsepower and wheelbase are pretty much the same, but unless that bitch is hard top, Miata is the gayest thing ever. Not even faded paint, stock wheels, and a roll bar could make a Miata look masculine. Hardtop and low offset wheels are a must before you even start talking down on anyone else's ride.

EDIT: And to the people that say MR2s are better? Are you serious? The MR2 has the SAME motor as the AE86 with like 10 extra horses and the shittiest engine placement ever designed. All they did was take a AE86 shell cut out the back and put a FWD motor in the back LOL. FR ftw. And people bitch about Corollas under steering hahaha. Cute.

the MR2 is a completely different car..Same Engine and steering rack, can you name another part? they don’t share a single body panel, interior piece etc....sure the 4age was first used in the corolla, but you didn’t even get any of the good production models....no 7 rib large ports, no GZE....they couldn’t even hold off an extra 2 years to give you a redtop/high comp....which even a Geo Prism received. :lmao:...all you got was the shit 3 rib blue tops. You must also be on acid to think the corolla will ever out handle the MR2 with similar mods, under the same driver conditions......after all a little well known Lotus engineer named Roger Becker designed its suspension and handling characteristics...for that specific purpose....the engine placement being the worst ever? Are you seriously that ignorant? This wasn’t just some misplaced FWD engine thrown in the back, this was Toyota's legitimate shot at a TRUE sports car, not a sport "coupe" (celica/supra), and sure as shit not a faggot grocery getter of a corolla. The only thing that made the corolla popular was the fact it was light, RWD, the 4age motor....oh and did i forget CHEAP!! it was almost 10k less than the MR2's base listing :lmfao: Also, if you wanna get technical, the MR2's highest trim level was offered with a 4agze....so technically thats 145 hp to your 112....and it actually makes torque :D. You couldn’t even get a true independent rear suspension.....Something every Miata has. Neither the Miata nor the MR2 have since changed their layouts either......while the poor corolla is now relegated as the new "chicks under 30" and the "college students on a budget" car to have.
