    1. Solve the equation 8^x+2=(1/2)^x-11

    2.Simplify each of the following. Assume that all variables represent positive real numbers.
    A. 8x^-2(y^3 z^-3)^-3 B. (4d^1/2 + 1)(3d^1/2 - 2)
    (2x)^-4 y
    c. 15x^-2(y^-1 z^2)^-3
    (5x)^-1 y^2

    I can do it, but I don't feel like putting forth the time I guess. Then again, I took Calc 1, 2, 3, 4, theory, and linear algebra in college as well; shit that I will never use in real life. Ahahahah

    It's not that hard, but most IA'ers are not as smart as they want to believe.

    Like I said, I could do it (it would be A LOT easier if I could see the exact way that the equation was drawn out - without the ^ and such), but it just takes time to sit and move things from the right and left side of the equation in order to solve for x.

    you need to get your parenthesis straight before even attempting to ask for help online with your homework.

    First problem:

    8^(x+2)=(1/2)^(x-11)

    log(8^(x+2)) = log((1/2)^(x-11))
    (x+2)log(8) = (x-11)log(1/2)
    (x+2)(.903) = (x-11)(-.301)
    .903x + 1.806 = -.301x + 3.311
    1.204x = 1.505

    x = 1.25 or 5/4

    I don't have the time or desire to do the others, but if you can follow what I did, you should be able to get them. Basically you just need to know that

    log(a^b) = (b)log(a)
