The internet has completely changed the way i buy things. Im able to research so much easily and price shop for items.. Plus with sites like ebay i usually NEVER pay retail especially for electronics.

Internet sales has really hurt the car salesman. If you work for commission pay, you now have to worry more about an interent price stealing your client away instead of another salesman.

That is very true. Internet prices are usually rock bottom on the end of price negotiations

very much so, ebay alone, car accessory wise, has infiltrated and a lot of business' find it hard to undersell cheap shit on ebay, you have to rely on the people who want quality and not looks, which is hard to come by these days

Don't forget the Entertainment industry. I'm sure it has hit that hard as hail what with illegal downloading of music (mainly) and movies and software. Later, QD.

^^ Yeah the Entertainment industry is hurting bad from it. I have seen and heard of over probably 30 sites where you can download as much music as you want, and also sites where you can watch movies and burn them for nothing. So yes i believe the internet has hurt many businesses.

I think the internet has somewhat softened the blow of the current downfall if it is possible to fathom that. Without the internet.. this situation would most likely be much worse.

Without a doubt, it has changed the way buyers shop but it has also changed the way (effective) sellers sell.

Some industries are not effected much though, like the paint industry for example. But with the general product industry, you will get left behind if you fail to use the internet as a resource.

You want to see the effect of the internet? How many people would know what a Nissan Skyline is without the internet.
