If I were to say something like that I would automatically add a "pfft, yea right." It's not in me to say something nice like that. Eventually they come to realize that I'm like that and nothing can change it. I can't say "baby, honey, I love you, ect" Girls LAUGH at me when I do. Like they know it's a joke.
