I'm well aware of the requirements for a teacher. Being intelligent and having tenure doesn't necessarily make one smart nor does it prevent one from being misled. Also, I'd be willing to bet that his book has virtually nothing regarding global warming being caused human interference or likewise.

I simply find it humorous that you're willing to believe false information and allow it to spread just to get a grade. Nobody ever accomplished anything by being a mindless sheep. Well, aside from putting Obama into office anyway. Prevent the facts to him and challenge his inaccuracies.

i think "global warming" can be real; just as we had an ice age. now wether the data to prove such is reliable is the true question. we do know for a fact polar ice caps are melting is this due to carbon emissions or our orbit around the sun IDK. global warming is something that is new and developing when people look back 100 years time will tell what is truly happening.

we are currently maintaining temperatures equal to that of the the early 1900's (1912 to be exact). Last years annual mean of .84 is lower than that of 1990 (.88). Infact, as typical trends suggest we are seeing cooler temperatures this year than even just a year before. Spikes are seen in the GICC graph at about every ~7 yrs, which between is seen a cooling off phase. Not since 1934 have we seen a temperatures spike of more than 1.24 as an annual mean. We "spiked" in 2006 (1.15)

I'm not really into the whole global warming conspiracy bs. The way I see it is that some people just pick a position and stick with it no matter what. Some people just want to be right, or have an "enemy" to hate. Some people like their tribe, and don't want to bother learning about the other tribes out there.

When it comes to global warming the scientific community does not have enough data to support it's claims. Period.

People can point out stuff we have done to damage our ozone layer which could have some effects on our climate. But for us to get to a point where our temp. increases every year? Thus causing our polar ice caps to melt? Wouldn't fresh water prices go up? Due to our demands for clean water?

I remember as a kid we would see snow. Now, all we see are cold dry days and nights. Stuff like this could have anyone thinking about global warming. Does it bother me? Not at all. While I understand and agree that global warming is may or may not be anthropogenic, I am not convinced that warmer and longer summers for a few years are directly caused by global warming as opposed to some other, shorter-scale weather pattern. Cycles of warm and cool will occur even in a slow increase in average temperatures over a long period of time. That's just how our planet is.

This post isn't just directed at you but to everyone in this thread...
