The Punisher did well for itself and they're merely capitalizing on it's success with a different story. Nothing wrong with that. It's just like what they did with Spiderman, only with different actors.

It's not a remake. That's like saying because the first Star Trek movie was great, that all the following ones were remakes of the first one.
