    Default Opinions on Trucks

Alright dad wants to add another vehicle to the work "fleet" as of now we have a 2002 Chevy 2500 van, a 2005 Ford F150 long bed truck and a 2000 Dakota. Now we will be trading in the dakota so that we will have a vehicle with good gas mileage to make small deliveries such as 1-8 tires. We are looking at somthing small with a decent bed and extended cab and 2wd...I'd like to hear opinions from everyone but ecspecially those who have owned/driven or know someone who owns these vehicles...choices are as follows...

    Toyota Tacoma Used

    Toyota Tacoma New

    Mazda B3000

    Ford Ranger

    Nissan Frontier Used

    Last minute Addition Chevrolet S10

I love the look of the new tacomas, however, buying a new car is not a good idea because as soon as you take it off the lot you lose like 5 g's on the spot... That's just not something I wanna do, ya know? You'll be able to find a newer model tacoma by June for pretty cheap...

Any particular reason you aren't including the Chevy S10 into the selection? Anyways, from that list I'd probably say Nissan Frontier... seems to be a really popular every day driving work truck.

well the dakota bed is only about 5 feet long so anything bigger than that that gets more than 14 mpg is excellent

I am quite surprised you did not list the GMC Canyon or the Chevy Colorado.

    The 3.5L 5cylinder has 225HP & 220 lbs of torque. Mine gets over 18mpg.

The 2.8L 4 cyl has around 170 hp Ithink.

Anyway- its a great truck! I love mine!

but they are still very new and are not offered in models that would suit us....the beds are far from impressive and father does not care for the styling too much....you can go buy a used tacoma for 13 or 14 when the colorado's and canyon's are still around the 20-25 mark...plus i hate buying vehicles that have not had time to show their problems...such as first years

this is a work truck not my personal vehicle....this will be what we drive when we have a small order of tires for say our cumming customer or our lagrange customer or somthing so we don't spend 20 bucks in gas to deliver 8 tires ya know....

    Ranger.

I have a 2001 XLT, and its been very reliable. and I get about 20 miles to the gallon with the AC on max and the fan on high. I have driven both my Ranger and the older Frontiers (the old body style). My preference was my Ranger. I have also driven my father-in-law's 2005 Colorado and I still liked my Ranger better. The only downside to my Ranger is that I would have rather gotten the 3.0 instead of the 2.3 (acceleration leaves a little to be desired), But I got a hell of a deal on mine when I bought it so I cant complain too much
