I think he was an entertaining writer, but I don't put him a pedestal like a lot of his cult followers; not saying that you're one of them. I just see him as fanboy'd in his genre as Steven King and J.K. Rowling are in theirs. Enjoy the book, thank the author, and move along.

Eh... I won't argue the fan boy thing. He does have a pretty cultish fan base, but I don't think everyone who reads it really gets it, or is able to see past the iconoclast persona. Some people just like him because he did drugs.

I wasn't belittling anyones intelligence. I don't think anyone was. I was giving dtm a hard time for giving me a hard time about my sig. All in good fun, nothing personal. He said I had vaginal tastes, I said he was illiterate.

What's so wrong with him taking his own life? He was old, and probably not going to live much longer, and also suffering quite a bit from a life time of hard living.
