    I would go directly to the owner. Just have a calm civil discussion and explain what happened.
    See if your auto insurance will cover it, It may even be the case that if you have home owners or renters insurance it may cover it. Never hurts to ask.

    appreciated. the amount id get would just be enough to cover the deductible/premium increase.
