Anybody ever tke a blueprint reading or a machine tool class? I am very dumb at math and I can't figure anything out. Its an online class and my midterm is the 3rd which is half my grade. ANybody know how to do this

What kind of math?
I'd help you if I knew how to do Math good! That was always my worse subject.
But goodluck with it man

you are gonna laugh at me tony.
but its adding fractions and mixed numbers. also determining radii from given figures. I am pretty stupid in math. just give me words and I'll run circles around a literature class.

post up what you need
stuff like this. i understood this one mostly. except for the last two questions.
compute dimensions P and Q.
P isnt pictured sorry.
Q drops all the way down to where radius J ends. which is the end of the center line of the object on that bottom view. (center line is that broken line that extends out above the actual object. almost points to 5.000)
and P is from the far left end to the center line. still the bottom pic. No values are given for P.
Jibberish, I was expecting fractions and mixed numbers. I wont be much help to ya
i feell ya. its exactly jibberish to me. and the book doesnt explain much. its just here is a pic, figure it out.
better pics.
Can you get better pics of the whole drawing? Math has always been my best subject, maybe I can help ya out before I crash for the night.
EDIT: It didn't show the pic you just posted. Sorry...
Back to being stock and slow
P I believe is 2.5. It is half the distance of the 5 mark above with a line drawn down the center of the drawing above it... The width of the drawing on top is 5, and P is half the distance, in other words... Also, I wanna say that Q is 3.5...

dang kid you are right. its 2.500
answer key says so.
but Q is 7.500 and idk why
On the bottom drawing, what is the number that is written on the very right side of it?

u mean to very right? its .750
WTF kind of math is that? what r u going to school for?
lolol its kill your brain cells math. i am finishing up my associates degree in automotive tech, this class is the reason i quit in the first place. i took machine tool where u actually have to make stuff using math like this and i failed horribly. i withdrew to save my GPA.
Do you see the E? It goes from the very bottom line under the bottom drawing, all the way to the top of the top drawing. There is a number that says 11. There is another measurement on the very left of the top drawing that says 3.5. Therefore The whole thing is 11, but you would subtract the top drawing which is 3.5... 11-3.5 is 7.5. The reason you subtract the measurement of the top drawing is because "Q" starts at the bottom of the top drawing, and goes to the very bottom line... That make any sense?

The measurement of "11" for "E" is the middle of the top drawing by the part of the line that zig zags...

i see what u saying buy i kinda dont get it.
i agree.Originally Posted by Motivation
this isnt the way a real blueprint works, they're just tryin to get you to figure out the distances between the dimensions so its kind of a pain to figure out the bull shit on here. i could make this part in no time, but this is a fucd up print. i agree with motivation, P is 2.5, and i think Q is 3.5. sorry i cant help you out more, but im super tired and got a long day at the shop tomorrow. AND im on the phone with a crying girlfriend so if this doesnt make sense, i TRULY apologize
and ill look it over again tomorrow
thanx yall
yeah the drawing is messed up in that Q is referencing a dimension that crosses 2 different views. very f'ed up.
AAAHHHH! my brain is flushed looking at that.
I truly, deeply dislike math.
It always kills me.
But whether i like it or not, it's EVERYWHERE.
unfortunately...
I did this for nearly 6 years... give me the link.
:boobies: &= :idb:
oh shit.. i'm late and an idiot.. but I figured it out if that helps me at all?! Got any more?
